Call for Volunteers: PNCIMA Forum, March 26 & 27, 2009

The Pacific North Coast Integrated Management (PNCIMA) Forum is a two-day event that will engage people and organizations in the development of an integrated approach to oceans management for the Pacific North Coast Integrated Management Area (PNCIMA). This integrated approach aims to preserve ecological diversity and function while also ensuring sustainable human use. The event will be attended by individuals and organizations that work in, plan for, and use resources in the PNCIMA region.
The event will take place on March 26 & 27, 2009, at the Best Western Richmond Hotel & Convention Centre (7551 Westminster Highway, Richmond, BC).

We need bright, motivated and eager volunteers to help this conference run smoothly. Specifically, we need people to assist with:

• collating conference materials
• checking in registered delegates
• assisting presenters and providing AV support

• being a microphone runner during Q&A sessions

Additionally, we need a group of organized and dependable note-takers. Note-takers must be organized, dependable, and good listeners. Note-takers are responsible for:
• attending assigned breakout sessions
• taking detailed notes of the session proceedings
• immediately submitting the notes to the conference facilitator

Finally, we need a group of organized and dependable graphic facilitators. Graphic facilitators should have some artistic talent, and neat handwriting. Graphic facilitators are responsible for:
• attending assigned breakout sessions
• mapping session proceedings with large-scale graphic representations using words, images and icons (all supplies will be provided – for more information, see avrilorloff.com)

All volunteers will receive a site visit and full training. Volunteers get access to all conference sessions, health breaks and lunches, as well as a reception on the evening of March 26. As a volunteer, you agree to:

• attend volunteer orientation (March 23, 2009 from 1-4pm)
• attend all assigned volunteer shifts
• be available on March 26 & 27, 2009
