iWalk - International Walk to School Week: Oct 4-8, 2010

International Walk to School Month gives
children, parents, school

teachers and community leaders an opportunity to be part of a
global

event as they celebrate the many benefits of walking.

In 2009, students from 314 schools
from across BC joined
millions of

walkers from around the world, walking to school together for
various

reasons – all hoping to create communities that are safe places to

walk.

What will you do with your $100?

This spring, the B.C. government announced North America’s first “revenue neutral” carbon tax. In its first year it includes a $100 “Climate Action Dividend” cheque for every British Columbian, with extra for low-income families. That’s $440 million and the cheques are in the mail. The question remains, what will you do with your $100?
