Register for Metro Vancouver's Watershed Education Program
Registration for spring programs begins on Thursday, November 13, 2008.
Watershed Education Programs provide opportunities for participants to:
- experience the unique features of Metro Vancouver's Watersheds first-hand;
- connect students with the natural environment through hands-on, outdoor experiences;
- apply those memorable experiences to their daily lives;
- affect long-term influences on perspectives, values, choices and
decisions as individuals to maintain a livable and sustainable region
Curriculum Connections
- While the content of our programs connect easily to many of the curriculum Prescribed Learning Outcomes, our main objective is to provide a memorable opportunity for students to see where their drinking water comes from and to communicate the specific purpose of the LSCR, which is to maintain its capacity as a water reserve.
- While the content of our programs are closely linked to curriculum objectives for subject areas such as science, social studies and geography, they are interdisciplinary in nature. Programs can be easily adapted to provide an enriching experience for a broad range of subject areas including visual and language arts, career and personal planning and others.
