New Approaches to Mobilizing Climate Action

Explore climate change issues through a new lens. This event will include skits by Spilt Milk Comedy Theater, presentations by local experts on the following themes, and an audience question period:

 

v  Sustainable energy: Dr. Lawrence Pitt, Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions

v  Alternative transportation: Sue Hallatt, Capital Regional District

v  Compact land use: Ellen Pond, University of British Columbia

v  Green buildings: Richard Iredale, Iredale Group Architecture

v  Food security: Dr. Aleck Ostry, University of Victoria

 

PICS is hosting this event in conjunction with the BC Climate Action Secretariat (CAS), Capital Regional District (CRD) and the UVic Office of Campus Planning & Sustainability. This event is being held in conjunction with a two-day summit, led by CAS, bringing together climate action leaders from across Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast on June 9th and 10th.
